Abercrombie, Euan - a student at Hogwarts in Gryffindor.
Abbott, Hannah - a student at Hogwarts in Hufflepuff. She is a member of Dumbledore's Army (DA).
Accio - a summoning spell.
Ackerley, Stewart - a student at Hogwarts in Ravenclaw.
Acromantula - a giant eight eyed spider that can talk. (i.e. Aragog).
Alohamora - a spell that magically opens most locks.
Aparecium - a spell that makes invisible ink visible again.
Appleby Arrows - a northern English quidditch team founded in 1612.
Ashwinder - a thin, grey serpent with glowing red eyes that is created when a magical fire is left burning unattended.

Avis - a spell
that makes birds come out of your wand.
Baddock, Malcolm - a student at Hogwarts in Slytherin.
Bagman, Ludovic (Ludo) - the head of the Department of Magical Games and Sports, Was a beater for the Wimbourne Wasps. He was accused of assisting Death Eaters but was let off because he said he didn't know.
Bagshot, Bathilda - Author of A History of Magic.
Ballycastle Bats - a northern Ireland quidditch team which has won the quidditch league 27 times.
Bane - a centaur that lives in the Forbidden Forest.
Banshee - a spirit whose wail portends death.
Basilisk - a giant green serpent that can reach up to fifty feet in length, it has poisonous fangs and eye-contact is deadly.
Beaters - a position in a quidditch team, their role is to protect their fellow team members from the bludgers using their bats.
Beauxbatons Academy - a wizarding
school from France somewhere.
Bell, Katie - a student at Hogwarts in Gryffindor. Chaser
for Gryffindor Quidditch team. He is a member of Dumbledore's Army (DA).
Bigonville Bombers - a Luxembourg quidditch team.
Billywig - an insect from Australia. Its sting is dried and used to make Fizzing Whizzbees.
Binns ~Professor - History of Magic teacher at Hogwarts, the only ghost teacher
there.
Black, Sirius - he was a prisoner of Azkaban. He is an Animagus of a black dog
nicknamed Padfoot or "Snuffles".
Was once a student at Hogwarts in Gryffindor.
He is Harry's Godfather. And a member of the Order of the Phoenix.
Blast Ended Skrewts - a creature that is a cross between manticors and fire crabs..
Bletchley, ? - a student at Hogwarts in Slytherin. A keeper for Slytherin quidditch team.
Bludger - a ball used in the game of quidditch,
it is made of iron and are ten inches in diameter. They are bewitched to chase
players indiscriminately.
Bloody Baron - the resident ghost of Slytherin. The only one to be able to
control Peeves.
Bode, Broderick - an Unspeakable with the Ministry of Magic.
Bole, ? - a student at Hogwarts in Slytherin. A beater for Slytherin quidditch team.
Bones, Amelia Susan - Head of department of magical law enforcement.
Bones, Susan - a student at Hogwarts in Hufflepuff, whose grandparents were killed by Voldemort.
Boot, Terrence (Terry) - a student at Hogwarts in Ravenclaw. He is a
member of Dumbledore's Army (DA).
Bowtruckle - a tree guardian, very difficult to see as it looks like the bark of the tree it lives in.
Braga Broomfleet - a Portuguese quidditch team.
Branstone, Eleanor - a student at Hogwarts in
Hufflepuff.
Brocklehurst, Mandy - a student at Hogwarts in Ravenclaw.
Brown, Lavender - a student at Hogwarts in
Gryffindor. Her best friend is Parvati Patil. She is member of
Dumbledore's Army (DA).
Bryce, Frank - Riddle's 75 year old Muggle gardener who was killed by Voldemort.
Bulstrode, Millicent - a student at Hogwarts in
Slytherin. She was Hermione Granger’s duelling partner in the second year duelling club.
Bundimun - a creature that infest houses and rots them. It looks like green fungus with eyes and runs on many tiny legs.
Cadogan, Sir - a Knight from a portrait in the North Tower. He was the temporary guardian of Gryffindor Tower while the Fat Lady was being repaired (after her portrait was slashed)
Caerphilly Catapults - a welsh quidditch team formed in 1402.
Caulwell, Owen - a student at Hogwarts in Hufflepuff.
Centaur - a creature with a human head, arms and torso joined to a horse's body. It can talk but usually tends to talk about planets and
foretelling the future.
Chang, Cho - a student at Hogwarts in Ravenclaw. Seeker of the Ravenclaw Quidditch team. Harry has a crush on her in
his 4th and first half of 5th year. She is a member of Dumbledore's
Army (DA).
Chasers - a position in a quidditch team, they through the quaffle to their fellow chasers to try to score a goal.
Chimaera - a monster with a lion's head, a goat's body and a dragon's tail.
Chizpurfle - a parasite that looks like a crab with fangs which is attracted to magical dwellings.
Chudley Cannons - a quidditch team which has not won since 1892 but still has many devoted fans.
Clearwater, Penelope - a student at Hogwarts in Ravenclaw and a House prefect. Percy Weasley's girlfriend.
Colloportus - a spell which seals doors and objects.
Connolly, ? - a player on the Irish Quidditch team.
Corner, Michael - a student at Hogwarts in Hufflepuff.
Boyfriend of Ginny Weasley in her 4th year. He is a member of Dumbledore's
Army (DA).
Crabbe, Vincent - a student at Hogwarts in Slytherin. One of Draco Malfoy's
sidekicks.
Crabbe, ? - a Death Eater.
Creevey, Colin - a student at Hogwarts in
Gryffindor. A huge fan of Harry who follows him constantly and is always trying
to take his picture. He is a member of Dumbledore's Army (DA).
Creevey, Dennis - a student at Hogwarts in
Gryffindor. Colin's little brother. He is a member of Dumbledore's
Army (DA).
Croaker, ? - an Unspeakable with the Ministry of Magic.
Crockford, Doris - a witch Harry met the Leaky Cauldron.
Crookshanks - an orange cat belonging to Hermione. Crookshanks is half
kneazle.
Crouch, Bartemius (Barty) - the Head of the Department of International Magical Co-Operation.
Crouch, Barty - son of Bartemius Crouch. At one time he was a prisoner of
Azkaban.
Cruciatus curse - inflicts extreem pain, one of the three Unforgivable Curses that put you in Azkaban.
Crup - a creature that looks almost exactly like a Jack Russell terrier but with a forked tail.
Davis, Roger - a student at Hogwarts in Ravenclaw. Captain and Chaser of Ravenclaw's Quidditch Team.
Death Eaters - followers that are Dark Wizards which are loyal to Lord Voldemort.
Delacour, Fleur - a beautiful, French girl with long, silvery blonde hair who was
the Triwizard player from the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. Her grandmother was a Veela.
Delacour, Gabrielle - Fleur's younger sister.
Delaney-Podmore, Patrick - the leader of the Headless Hunt.
Deletrius - a disintegrating spell.
Dementors - creatures wearing black
hooded cloaks that make you feel you will never be happy again. They make the
air go cold. They can kill you by sucking out your soul through your mouth,
called a Dementors Kiss.
Demiguise - a creature resembling a large ape that has long silver hair that is used in Invisibility Cloaks.
Densaugeo - a spell which causes teeth to grow very fast.
Derwent, Dilys - a St. Mungo's Healer from 1722 to 1741 and Headmistress of Hogwarts from 1741 to 1768.
Diffindo - a spell which splits an object in
half.
Diggle, Dedalus - a wizard Harry met in the Leaky Cauldron. He also bowed to Harry one time in a shop.
A member of the Order of the Phoenix. In Kent he shot stars into the air in
celebration when Voldemort was thought to have been destroyed when his curse
backfired from trying to kill Harry.
Diggory, Amos - an employee for the Department for Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, Cedric's father.
Diggory, Cedric - was a student at Hogwarts in Hufflepuff. Captain and Seeker of the Hufflepuff Quidditch team.
Murdered by Voldemort in Triwizard Tournament in his 7th year.
Dimitrov, ? - a player on the Bulgarian Quidditch team.
Dissendium - the word which opens the entrance to a secret passageway to
Hogsmeade.
Dobby - a male house-elf that used to work for the Malfoys but was freed by
Harry. He now works in the at Hogwarts.
Doge, Elphias - a member of the Order of the Phoenix.
Dolohov, Antonin - a Death Eater.
Doxy - also known as a biting fairy, this creature looks like a fairy but is covered in black hair and has an extra pair of arms and legs. It also has two rows of venomous teeth.
Dragon - there are roughly ten species of dragon: Antipodean Opaleye, Chinese Fireball, Peruvian Vipertooth, Hungarian Horntail, Common Welsh Green, Hbridean Black, Norwegian Ridgeback, Swedish Short-Snout, Ukrainian Ironbelly and Romanian Longhorn.
Dumbledore, Albus Percival Wulfric Brian ~Professor - (Order of Merlin, First Class, Grand
Sorc., Chf. Warlock, Supreme Mugwump, International Confed. of Wizards). He is
the Headmaster (Principal) of Hogwarts. A member of the Order of the Phoenix.
Dunstan, B - a student at Hogwarts.
Durmstrang Institute - a wizarding
school in Europe somewhere, possibly Bulgaria.
Dursley, Dudley - Harry's horrible fat cousin. A muggle.
Dursley, Petunia - Harry's aunt. Sister of Lily Potter.

Dursley, Vernon - Harry's horrible uncle. A muggle.
Enervate – a spell used for reviving.
Engorgio– a charm that causes swelling.
Errol - the Weasley's ancient owl.
Evanesco – a charm used for cleaning.
Evans, Lily - Harry mother, before she married James
Potter.
Expecto Patronum – a spell that produces a Patronus to protect you.
Expelliarmus – a spell that disarms your
opponent in Wizard Dueling.
Falmouth Falcons - a quidditch team.
Fat Friar - resident ghost of Hufflepuff.
Fat Lady - the lady in the portrait guarding the entrance to Gryffindor Tower.
Fawcett, Sarah - a student at Hogwarts in Hufflepuff.
Fawkes - a golden phoenix belonging to Albus Dumbledore.
Ferula - a spell which makes a sling for a broken arm.
Figg, Arabella Doreen - an elderly Squib who used to baby-sit for Harry when the Dursleys went
away. She has many cats. She is a squib.
Filch, Argus - the Caretaker at Hogwarts. Filch hates students. He has a cat called Mrs. Norris.

Finch-Fletchley, Justin - a student at Hogwarts in Hufflepuff. He is a
member of Dumbledore's Army (DA).
Finite Incantatem - a charm used to end many
spells.
Finnigan, Seamus - a student at Hogwarts in
Gryffindor. His best friend is Dean Thomas.
Fire Crab - a creature which looks like a large tortoise with a jewelled shell. It shoots flame from its rear.
Firenze - a young centaur that lives in the Forbidden Forest
Fitchburg Finches - a Massachusetts quidditch team.
Flamel, Nicolas - former owner of the Philosopher's Stone.
Flamel, Perenelle - the wife of Nicholas Flamel.
Fletcher, Mundungus - a member of the Order of the Phoenix,
he is always drunk.
Flint, Marcus - a student at Hogwarts in Slytherin. Captain of the Slytherin Quidditch team.
Flitwick Filius ~Professor - Charms teacher & Head of Ravenclaw House.
Flobberworm - a brown worm that can be up to ten inches long.
Fluffy - the three-headed dog who guarded the philosopher's stone at one point.
It falls asleep to music.
Four-Point Spell - a spell that makes
your wand point due North (i.e. a compass).
Fridwulfa - Hagrid's mother, who was a giant.
Fubster, Colonel - a neighbour to Aunt Marge. A muggle.
Fudge, Cornelius - the Minister of Magic.
Furunculus - a spell that causes boils.
Gilliweed - a seaweed like plant which when eaten will enable a person to breath underwater for some time.
Gimbi Giant-Slayers - an Ethiopian quidditch team.
Gnome - a common garden pest which resembles a potato with short bony arms and legs. It often infests gardens which it can then be picked up by the feet and swung in circles and thrown over a fence to disorientate it from finding its way back.
Golden Snitch - a walnut-sized ball used in quidditch. It is bewitched to evade capture as long as possible.
Goldstein, Anthony - a student at Hogwarts in Ravenclaw, a prefect. He is a member of Dumbledore's Army (DA).
Goshawk, Miranda - the Author of Standard Book of Spells Grade 1, 2,3,4 & 5.
Goyle, Gregory - a student
at Hogwarts in Slytherin. One of Draco Malfoy's sidekicks.
Goyle, ? - a Death Eater.
Granger, Hermione - one of Harry's best friends. She is
muggle born. A student at Hogwarts in Gryffindor and a prefect. She has a cat called
Crookshanks. (Hermione is pronounced Her-MY-n-ee). Her birthday is on September
19th, 1980. She is a member of Dumbledore's Army (DA).
Grey Lady - the resident ghost of Ravenclaw.
Griffin - a creature with the front legs and head of an eagle and the back legs and body of a lion.
Grindylow - a horned, pale green water demon with long fingers and a powerful grip.
Griphook - a goblin at Gringotts Bank.
Grodzisk Goblins - a Polish quidditch team.
Grubbly-Plank ~Professor - substitute teacher for Care of Magical Creatures
in Harry's 4th and 5th year.
Gyffindor, Godric - One of the 4
founders of Hogwarts.
Hagrid, Rubeus - the gameskeeper and keeper of keys and
grounds at Hogwarts. He lives with his black boarhound named Fang. He
was once a student at Hogwarts in Gryffindor but was expelled in his 3rd year.
He loves any dangerous creatures and wants them as pets. Wants a dragon more
than anything.
Haileybury Hammers - a Canadian quidditch team.
Half-Blood Prince - we will know on July 16th
2005.
Hedwig - a Snowy Owl who belongs to Harry, who was a birthday present from Hagrid.
Heidelberg Harriers - a German quidditch team.
Hermes - the owl belonging to Percy Weasley.
Higgs, Terrence - a student at Hogwarts in Slytherin. A Seeker on the Slytherin Quidditch team in Harry’s first year.
Hinkypunk - a one-legged, frail-looking creature that appears to be made of smoke. Professor Remus Lupin introduces the creature in a Defense Against the Dark Arts class in the book Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. The hinkypunk inhabits bogs and carries a lantern which it uses to lure travellers in the dark.
Hippogriff - a creature with the head of an eagle and the body of a horse. It can fly. To communicate with it, you must make direct eye contact at all times and bow, if it bow's back it is safe to proceed, otherwise run as fast as you can.
Hogshead, The - the place where the DA held their first meeting, a pub in Hogsmeade.
Holyhead Harpies - a very old welsh quidditch team founded in 1203.
Hooch ~ Madam - the broomstick flying teacher at Hogwarts and usually the
referee at inner-school Quidditch matches.
Hopkirk, Mafalda - a worker in the Improper use of magic office.
Horklump - a fleshy, pink mushroom with black bristles.
Hufflepuff, Helga - One of the 4 founders of Hogwarts.
Impediment Jinx - a spell to slow down and obstruct attacks.
Imperious curse - a controlling curse, one of the three Unforgivable Curses that put you in Azkaban.
Impervius - a spell which makes objects repel water.
Incarcerous - a spell which makes ropes come out of your wand.
Ivanova, ? - a player on the Bulgarian Quidditch team.
Jenkins, Joey - a player in the Chudley Cannons quidditch team.
Jigger, Arsenius - the Author of Magical Drafts and Potions.
Johnson, Angelina - a student at Hogwarts in Gryffindor.
Chaser on the Gryffindor Quidditch team. She is a member of
Dumbledore's Army (DA).
Jones, Megan - a student at Hogwarts in Hufflepuff.
Jordan, Lee - a student at Hogwarts in Gryffindor. He is popular for his commentaries at the Quidditch matches. He is
the best friend to Fred and George Weasley. He is a member of
Dumbledore's Army (DA).
Jorkins, Bertha - a member of the Ministry of Magic, who was abducted in Albania
by Wormtail for Voldemort, she was very thick but had a good memory.
Karkaroff , Igor ~Professor - the Durmstrang Headmaster who knows a lot about the Dark Arts. Was once a or may still be a Death Eater.
Keddle, Gertie - a witch who is believed to have witnessed one of the earliest games of quidditch known to wizard kind.
Keeper - a position in a quidditch team, their role is to prevent the quaffle from entering their teams goal posts.
Kenmare Kestrels - an Irish quidditch team founded in 1291.
Kettleburn ~Professor - was the care of Magical Creatures teacher. Retired at the end of Harry’s second year.
Kirke, Andrew - a replacement beater on the Gryffindor Quidditch team after the twins were banned in OOtP.
Kneazle - a small cat like creature, it is intelligent, independent and occasionally aggressive, it has an uncanny ability to detect suspicious characters.
Kreacher - a male House-elf of the Black household.
Krum, Viktor - a seeker for the Bulgarian quidditch team who attended Durmstrang.
He went to the Yule Ball with Hermione and still stays in contact with her.
Legilimens - a the process of going into someone's mind.
Leprechaun - also known as a clauricon. They are very mischievous that make a substance that resembles gold coins but which then vanish within hours.
Lestrange, Bellatrix. - a Death Eater, now in Azkaban.
Lestrange, Rabastan - a Death Eater, now in Azkaban.
Lestrange, Rudolphus - a Death Eater, now in Azkaban.
Levski, ? - a player on the Bulgarian Quidditch team.
Lock, Mitchell - a student at Hogwarts in Hufflepuff.
Lockhart, Gilderoy - was the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher in Harry's second
year and now resides in St Mungo's Infirmary. Author of self-glorifying autobiographies and five times winner of Witch Weekly's Most-Charming-Smile Award.

Gryffindor. He is quite accident-prone. He lives with his grandmother. His
parents were Aurors and were cursed by Voldemort and lost their minds. He is
a member of Dumbledore's Army (DA).
Lord Voldemort - an evil and powerful Wizard
Lovegood, Luna - a student at Hogwarts in Ravenclaw, the daughter of the editor of The Quibbler. She is a member of Dumbledore's Army (DA).
Lumos - a charm that emits light from the end of your wand.
Lumos Maximus - a charm that emits light from
the end of your wand, must be said with force to work.
Lupin, Remus J. ~Professor - the Defence Against the Dark Arts Teacher in
Harry's 3rd year. A member of the order on the phoenix. He is a werewolf, nicknamed "Moony".
Lynch, ? - a player and captain on the Irish Quidditch team.
Macnair, ? - a Death Eater. Works for the Ministry in the disposal of dangerous creatures.
Macmillan, Ernie - a student at Hogwarts in Hufflepuff. He is a member of Dumbledore's Army (DA).
Madley, Laura - a student at Hogwarts in Hufflepuff.

Malfoy, Draco - a student at Hogwarts in Slytherin. Enemy of Harry Potter.
Malfoy, Lucius - officer in the Ministry of Magic and Draco Malfoy's father.

Nearly Headless Nick.
Moaning Myrtle - the ghost at Hogwarts who lives in the second floor of the girls' toilet. She was a
Hogwarts student who was killed by eye contact with the Basilisk.
Mobiliarbus- a spell used to move objects.
Mobiliarbus - a spell used to move people who can't move themselves.
Mockridge, Cuthbert - the Head of the Goblin Liaison Office.
Montague, ? - a student at Hogwarts in Slytherin. A chaser on the slytherin quidditch team.
Montrose Magpies - the most successful quidditch team in the history of the
British and Irish league, winning over 32 times to date.
Moody, Alastor (Mad-Eye) - a retired Auror hired to teach Defence Against the Dark Arts in Harry's fourth year. Known as 'Mad-Eye Moody' since he lost an eye in the fight against Voldemort and his supporters, and replaced it with a magical eye. He is badly scarred and has a wooden leg.
Moony - Professor Remus Lupin's nickname when he turns into a werewolf.
Moose Jaw Meteorites - a Canadian quidditch team.
Moran, ? - a player on the Irish Quidditch team.
Morgana - the name of a witch depicted on a wizard trading card.
Morsmorde - the word which creates the Dark
Mark.
Mostafa, Hassan - an acclaimed Egyptian Chairwizard of the International Association of Quidditch.
He was the referee at the recent Quidditch World Cup.
Moutohora Macaws - a New Zealand quidditch team.
Mullet, ? - a player on the Irish Quidditch team.
Mumps, Zacharias - one of the first wizards to document the full description of quidditch in 1398.
Myrtle, Moaning - the ghost at Hogwarts who lives in the second floor of the girls' toilet. She was a Hogwarts student who was killed by eye contact with the Basilisk.
Nagini - a female snake.
Nearly Headless Nick - the full name of Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington. He is
the resident ghost of Gryffindor tower. He died 31st October, 1492.
Nigellus, Phineas - least popular Hogwarts headmaster ever. clever-looking and gruff, with a pointed beard and thin black eyebrows, his portrait depicts him in slytherin
colours. He despised teaching because he couldn't stand the "adolescent

Peasegood, Arnold - an Obliviator, a member of the Accidental Magic Reversal Squad.
Peeves - (the Poltergeist) He roams the halls and plays tricks on the students.
Pensieve - an objects that looks like a wooden bowl that you can put you memories and thoughts into if you have to many, it helps you to think clearer.
Perkins, ? - Co-worker of Mr Weasley at the ministry for misuse of muggle artefacts.
Peskipiksi Pesternomi – spell that rounds up Cornish Pixies.
Petrificus Totalus – a spell that causes a full body
bind.
